Thank You and Congratulations: A Drill Here, Drill Now Victory

Following the news that Congress is not going to push for the extension of the offshore drilling ban, American Solutions General Chairman and former Speaker Newt Gingrich declared a milestone victory on behalf of the American people and the 1.5 million members of the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" movement.

Gingrich stated that lifting the offshore drilling ban is a first and essential step toward an affordable energy independent future. He went on to point out that while this was a tremendous victory for the American people who have been hurt by the high cost of gasoline and diesel, this victory was only the first step. "Congress now needs to create a comprehensive energy strategy," Gingrich said. "Lifting of the ban allows us to continue with the work of creating an affordable, self-reliant energy-independent future."

American Solutions has led the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" movement that began with a petition drive urging Congress to allow for more drilling for oil and gas to provide Americans with relief from high fuel costs. This petition drive, which began on May 20, resulted in nearly 1.5 million Americans signing the petition. Those signatures were delivered to the Congress and to both the Democratic and Republican national conventions.

American Solutions was able to bring together a broad coalition of Democrats, Republicans, and independents to get Congress to act. "It proves, once again, that when the American people come together, they can create dramatic and positive change," Gingrich said.

Over the course of American Solutions' effort to lower fuel costs, President Bush lifted the executive ban on offshore drilling, both presidential campaigns modified their opposition to offshore drilling and Congress, today, has concluded that in response to the overwhelming support for more drilling, decided to drop its opposition to renewing the Congressional offshore drilling ban.

In addition to drilling for more oil right here at home, American Solutions has advocated for an energy strategy that includes clean coal, nuclear, wind, solar, biofuels, flex-fuel cars, hydrogen, and prizes for technological breakthroughs for new ways to successfully toward affordable energy independence.

I'm proud to be a supporter of Drill Here! Drill Now!, it's just common sense! I'm even prouder of myself for displaying the bumper sticker on the rear end of my automobile. I love it, when average people walk up to me in a Wal-Mart or other retailers parking lots and ask, "Where did you get that bumper sticker"? I give them the imformation they request, shake their hands and hop in my automobile to drive home with a smile on my face.

Are you aware that your webpage www.solutionsday2008.com is coming through so faded that it is almost impossible to read? Also, clicking on some of the links bring up 'web page not found'. Has someone sabotaged your site? I will probably attend the Atlanta function on Saturday but would like to look at the page that is unreadable. Please check as you are probably losing a lot of people because of the page being unreadable.

Thank you

I fear that the Democrats in congress did this to take drilling off the table as an issue for the elections. They are salivating at the prospect of two-years of running wild before anything can be done to stop them. I am sure they look at the offshore ban as something that they can reinstate after a big win in November.

Catherine, sorry for your trouble with the website. It appears to be working for me, but we'll be monitoring it closely. I look forward to seeing you in Atlanta on Saturday.

"Drill Here" but then we already have the pumps in place and can Pump All the Oil We Want. It's already under our soil. And further more, we have more oil that they do over there. If you dont believe me, check it out for your selfs. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8668319287834598272&q=&hl=en ,

And we can also send the drills right here in the midwest. With this new find of oil in our middle states, we now have more Oil on "American Soil" than the rest of the world. So if we "Drill Here, and Up There, we will neaver need to buy 1 Gallon of oil from anyone........! We already have the biggest oil fields on the planet.

So, "Go Get em Newt" If we get enought people behind us, our goverment will have to fece up to the American people that they have Lyed to us, and what they have been doing for the last 50 some years now to us. It's time we "Take Our Country Back" and it's time we "Buy Oil From America" - "For America"...................! Tex OuT !

THIS FIGHT IS NOT OVER! IF Barry Obama wins the white house, Congress will pass and he will sign the legislation forbidding drilling between 50 and 200 miles out and we will be right back where we were on Sept 30.

We must not let the socialist win the whitehouse. Talk to Hillary supporters and remind them that a vote for Obama ensures Hillary will never get a shot at the whitehouse. Tell anyone who votes Democratic that the top of the ticket is a Socialist and while its ok to vote for the local members of the ticket, its NOT ok to vote for Barrack. That man wants not only to change our country into land of losers, but he also wants to take over the Democratic party and turn the parties back to the masses.

DONT BE FOOLED, Obama has a plan for our nation, and he isnt sharing it yet. He has two simpletons at the head of each house of congress that will agree with him right down the far left wing line that he plans on putting forward and theres hardly anything the rest of us will be able to do about it for at least 2 years. by then the damage may be irreversible.

Vote Republican because it is a vote against OBAMA and the rest of his cohorts.
