History

American Solutions for Winning the Future is a new, nonpartisan organization dedicated to transforming all levels of government from the world that fails to the world that works. Its mission is to become the leading grassroots movement to recruit, educate, and empower citizen activists and elected officials to develop a new generation of solutions to address America's challenges. This grassroots movement is led by citizens who are tired of Red vs. Blue partisanship and want to create a Red, White, and Blue country.

On September 27, 2007 - the inaugural Solutions Day - American Solutions launched a movement to bring real change to all 513,000 elected officials in America. A standing room only crowd of more than 1,200 people attended the kickoff event at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia. The opening presentation was also televised nationwide for free for the 26 million subscribers of DISH Network and DirecTV and webcast at www.AmericanSolutions.com.

American Solutions General Chairman Newt Gingrich keynoted the Solutions Day opening presentation and outlined the need for transformational
change. The opening presentation was emceed by Michael Williams, Chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission, and also included live remarks from Governor Sonny Perdue (R-GA) and former Governor Roy Romer (D-CO), and video remarks from Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and Mayor Shirley Franklin (D-Atlanta). Earlier in the day, Sean Hannity and Neal Boortz broadcast their radio shows live from the Cobb Galleria. Fox News "Hannity and Colmes" was also on site at the Cobb Galleria to do their television show.

On September 29, the Solutions Day workshops were presented at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia and five other remote locations in California, Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire and Wisconsin. American Solutions organized 35 interactive policy workshops that were viewed in more than 2,000 locations in all fifty states. The workshops featured a nonpartisan group of leaders and issue experts to discuss real change and real solutions. The Solutions Day workshops were also available on the DISH Network, DirecTV and at www.AmericanSolutions.com. During the Solutions Day week, nearly 200,000 visitors came to American Solutions' website to watch webcasts and learn about becoming involved in this movement for real change.
